About Shoshana Ort
Welcome! I’m Shoshana Ort, LCSW
From a young age, I’ve been passionate about building deep, meaningful connections with others. Growing up with Type 1 Diabetes, I often felt isolated in managing the challenges of a chronic illness, especially the mental health impact. It was difficult finding people who truly understood what I was experiencing on a daily basis. This sense of loneliness drove me to pursue a career where I could support others dealing with similar invisible struggles.
After earning my Master’s in Social Work from Long Island University, I expanded my practice into various areas of mental health, including disordered eating, body image issues, and individuals’ relationships with food. My training in Rewiring the Anxious Brain has also allowed me to help clients overcome anxiety and lead more balanced lives.
I have been blessed with four beautiful children, including a set of twins—the youngest two! I won’t sugarcoat it; they are a handful! Double the trouble, but also double the blessing. I’m fortunate and grateful to have a very supportive husband, and we are committed to continually work on deepening our relationship. We strive to better understand one another, to be each other’s source of support and encouragement, and to be the person who truly “gets” the other on the deepest level. This shared desire for a strong, emotionally attuned partnership led us to pursue EFT counseling together.
After experiencing the profound impact of EFT therapy in our own marriage, I felt inspired to further explore this approach. I attended a 4-day intensive experiential externship in EFT, and from that experience, I knew I wanted to center my professional career around this transformative therapy. While stepping into EFT fully has felt both exciting and a bit nerve-wracking—since it’s different from other modalities I’ve practiced—I am highly motivated to be the best EFT therapist I can be. I’m eager to continue growing as a licensed clinical social worker and to explore how this work can transform the lives of my clients.
When I’m not working, I love exploring new places and immersing myself in nature, whether through traveling to new countries or finding local adventures. Creativity is another passion of mine, and I run a kosher candy business where I craft beautiful platters of candy, chocolate, nuts, and dried fruit for special occasions. I also enjoy being spontaneous, making fun memories with my kids, and cherishing those moments that make life truly special.
If you’re ready to deepen your connection with yourself or your partner, I’d be honored to support you on that journey. I invite you to schedule a session and discover new possibilities for growth and connection.
