About Shoshana Ort

Welcome! I’m Shoshana Ort, LCSW

Helping couples reconnect and rediscover the love they once shared is my greatest passion. I know how painful it can be when communication breaks down, leaving you feeling misunderstood, disconnected, or even hopeless. But I also know that with the right support, relationships can heal—and become stronger than ever. As a couples therapist, I’ve had the privilege of guiding many partners through this transformative process, helping them move from frustration and distance to trust, intimacy, and deeper emotional closeness.

I am deeply passionate about the work I do with couples. There is nothing more fulfilling than helping partners move from disconnection to a place of deeper love, trust, and emotional closeness. I’ve had the privilege of guiding couples through the process of breaking free from negative patterns and learning how to truly show up for each other in new, meaningful ways.

Seeing couples transform their relationships—replacing frustration with understanding and distance with intimacy—is one of the most rewarding parts of my practice.

My passion for this work is also deeply personal. I have been blessed with four wonderful children, including a set of twins—the youngest two! While life with twins is certainly a handful, it’s also a joy. I’m incredibly grateful for my supportive husband, but like many couples, we’ve faced our share of roadblocks along the way. Despite our love and commitment, we often struggled to communicate in the ways we both needed, leaving us feeling disconnected at times.

Determined to strengthen our relationship, we sought out EFT counseling. The process was not always easy—it challenged us to confront difficult emotions, unlearn old patterns, and develop a deeper understanding of each other. But through EFT, we were able to work through the roadblocks that had been keeping us apart and build a relationship rooted in trust, support, and emotional intimacy. The experience was truly transformational, and it inspired me to dedicate my professional career to helping other couples experience that same healing and connection.

Since then, I have been working with couples using the EFT model. I’ve witnessed firsthand how even small shifts in understanding and connection can lead to profound changes in a relationship. Through our work together, I help couples break free from negative cycles, heal emotional wounds, and create the closeness they crave.

In addition to my work with couples, I have extensive experience helping individuals overcome a variety of mental health challenges. After earning my Master’s in Social Work from Long Island University, I expanded my practice into areas such as disordered eating, body image issues, and individuals’ relationships with food. My training in Rewiring the Anxious Brain has also allowed me to help clients break free from patterns of anxiety and lead more balanced, fulfilling lives.

When I’m not working, I love exploring new places and immersing myself in nature—whether that’s traveling to new countries or finding local adventures. Creativity is another passion of mine, and I run a kosher candy business where I create beautifully crafted platters of candy, chocolate, nuts, and dried fruit for special occasions. I also enjoy being spontaneous, making fun memories with my kids, and cherishing the little moments that make life special.

If you and your partner are ready to break free from disconnection, rebuild trust, and strengthen your bond, I would be honored to support you. I invite you to schedule a session and begin your journey toward a more loving and emotionally connected relationship.
